Sport Horses
At this time Windwood does not train outside horses,
but we ride and train our own and have had excellent success.

We began breeding horses for the sport horse divisions 11 years ago and the first foal we bred has competed successfully in dressage, sport horse under saddle, hunter pleasure and sport horse in hand. He has accumulated championships as well as year end awards. Additional foals have competed in the sport horse division winning numerous championships as well as year end awards. We have purchased some along the way to add to our sport horse string and are very proud of our decisions and accomplishment with them as well. Here is a short list of our sport horses We went to the '03 Sport Horse nationals with a purebred mare (My Enchanted, Enchanter Magic X Menetta) showing in hand and placing 11th with more than 25 mares in the class. Per-Pavielle (Percussion X Joi De Sufi) a Half Arab Mare came out of retirement to show in 05. We showed dressage with success, garnering high points and championships. We took her to several shows to show in hand to qualify for Sport Horse Nationals and just prior to going she placed Top 5 at the East Coast Championship and went East Coast Champion Half Arab Mare In Hand, all at the tender age of 17! Liberty Essence (Golden Essence X Blue Star Sapphire) '03 Half Arab Pinto Gelding Now this is a fun horse to show. He has such a fun sense of humor and is so quiet and calm at horse shows you can easily forget he is only a baby. He has been shown In Hand with great success and I look forward to getting him started in the spring and showing him under saddle. Windwood's Joker, (Heaven sent Sadik X Baskadrona) '97 gelding. He is such a big forward and powerful boy, we are very excited about his future. He placed first and 2nd in his first ever dressage show a few weeks ago and 1st In Hand. This was an open show, showing against all sexes, ages and breeds. We have big plans for him in '07! Windwood's Gambler (Windwood's Joker X Nataseaa) '00 gelding. Owned and shown by Samantha Lomb. Sam has been showing Gambler for several years and has done very well with him. Capturing Championships in Halter as well as Sport Horse In Hand. He will be shown dressage in '07. KGN High Anxiety (High Mystic X KGN Dawning Image) '92 gelding that make the cross over from working hunters to dressage. Such a neat horse to ride, he has lots of energy and personality and great fun. He will go anywhere and do anything. Saint Patrick (Welsh/TB cross) '04 half welsh colt. We have shown him Sport Horse In Hand against all ages and sexes and breeds and he has held his own. He is a ball of energy and just too much fun! |
